Saint Angela Merici Catholic Church, constructed in 1965, is one of the first post Vatican II churches built in the New Orleans area. The simple auditorium design, with low ceiling height, was a drastic contrast from prior churches which featured rectangular rooms with high vaulted ceilings, galleries, and ornate decor. |
