St Francis Xavier Cathedral (circa 1898) 626 Fourth Street, Alexandria, LA 71301, 318-445-1451, Restored in 1977, this Neo-Gothic cathedral exhibits beautiful stained glass windows which are some of the finest in the state. The rose windows in the apex of the transept is the largest in the state and the main altar is hand-carved walnut.
